EMPLOYMENT

The Music District is seeking to fill the following part-time position to support its technical and member services needs in support of its membership. This position provides a welcoming and inclusive community at the Music District rooted in a culture of collaboration and exhibits a positive, hospitable attitude and predisposition toward patience and kindness.   

TECH SUPPORT

(Minimum Starting Rate: $17.00 per hour): Responsible for providing a positive and welcoming experience for members and guests of the Music District. Support members in the delivery of hands-on technical production services and guidance, as well as in conjunction with Music District programs and activities. Assist with daily operational and administrative needs. Provide and maintain the highest quality technical and production services, as it relates to the setup and overall preparedness of the Music District, in support of a member-centered learning experience.  

Requirements: Minimum of two years in music technical support, ideally in live and/or recorded performance. Minimum of one year experience with facilitating one-on-one or group learning. Experience in guest relations or customer service and a willingness to help with a positive, solution-oriented attitude. Proven knowledge of live sound and studio engineering techniques, including experience with a variety of systems, digital audio workstations (DAWs), consoles, microphones, musical instruments and equipment and strong familiarity with Mac OS. Keen understanding of the impact these and other technologies have on live and recorded sound. Eagerness to learn, accept direction, and take initiative. Proven troubleshooting skills, particularly in different audio production and technical applications. Ability to work a flexible schedule including late nights and weekends, high value on integrity, ability to think under pressure. Current or previous experience as a musician, and knowledge of the local music scene.    

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move more than 40 lbs. as necessary. Must be able to walk up and down stairs.
