The Music District is seeking an experienced full-time Artist Development Manager.


ARTIST DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Job Summary: 

This role will support the Head of Music District to ensure the Music District (MD) meets its mission to support the creative and business development of musicians. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating artist development programs that meet the needs of MD members and reflect the skills needed to succeed in the current music industry. The role cultivates a welcoming culture rooted in a commitment to artist development and community building. It also facilitates programming and trains staff and guest artists to facilitate programming. This role supervises artist development staff and coordinates with tech and operations to execute successful programming. This role acts as a Manager on Duty and Shift Lead, as required, and reports to the Head of Music District.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent industry training and experience

  • Five years of experience managing, developing and mentoring a creative team and working with individuals in a creative environment

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a professional musician or music industry professional, with 8-10 years being highly preferred

  • Demonstrable knowledge of professional music industry practices

  • Proven experience as a music teacher, facilitator, and/or professional music director

  • Experience with development of new programs

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Proven interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a budget

  • Excellent communication and time-management skills, with a proven ability to remain composed, collaborative, and effective in high-pressure situations

  • A deep interest in the transformative power of music

  • The ability to work a flexible schedule including late nights (~10 pm) and weekends

  • A flexible and open-minded spirit and openness to both new and traditional ideas

  • Ability to lift 20 lbs. and walk up and down stairs

Preferred:

  • Nonprofit, foundation and/or board experience

  • Marketing, branding, social media experience

The minimum starting salary for this position is $95,000. All regular, full-time employees are eligible for medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, wellness benefits, retirement savings and company match. Additional benefits include sixteen paid holidays, accrued flexible time off, new parent leave, staff education and tuition-based education reimbursement. This is not a remote work opportunity. This position may work non-traditional work hours, including nights and weekends.

Position is based in Fort Collins, Colorado.
