Artist Development Manager

Job Description:

We are looking for a motivated and creative Artist Development Manager to join the Music District. The Artist Development Manager develops and supports musicians and the Art of Music. The role will design programs and events that foster music creation and excellence, while working with the Business Manager to create professional and career opportunities for musicians. The role will manage artist residencies, instructors teaching at the Music District, curriculum development and instruction, content creation related to the Art of Music, and more.

Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidate will possess a compelling combination of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or minimum of six years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Three to five years of management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a creative work team and working with individuals in a creative work environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading, developing and mentoring staff.
  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Proven interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage financials, schedules, and budgeting.

Business Manager

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Business Manager to join the Music District. The Business Manager is responsible for supporting musicians and music-based businesses at the Music District and in Northern Colorado. The role will help musicians thrive financially by providing educational and professional development opportunities informed by relevant and innovative trends in the music industry. The role will increase access for music businesses and nonprofits to resources (educational, spaces, and networks) to achieve sustainable business models. The role will cultivate, manage, and evaluate Music District tenants, co-workers, and retails businesses.

Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidate will possess a compelling combination of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or minimum of six years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of three years business management experience.
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurship experience in music and/or other creative sectors.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and openness to both new and traditional ideas.
  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Proven interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven skills and experience in business operations, relationship development, and community building.
