Wheelchair Sports Camp is Denver’s biggest smallest band.

“If there were ever a moment for a queer, disabled rapper with a love for pot, jokes, and revolution to be a star, the moment is now” – Village Voice

Combining humor, playfulness, radical political perspectives, compassion and undeniable musical chops, Wheelchair Sports Camp is unlike any other hip-hop act around. Fronted by the wheelchair bound MC/beat-maker/activist/educator/shit-talker Kalyn, the band is a combination of live and electronic instruments with a more noisey, jazzy, experimental, combination to the traditional hip-hop group. The band has been featured on the cover of the Village Voice as well as in SPIN Magazine, Huffington Post, High Times Magazine and more. You can’t really pin Kalyn’s beats and collaborators to a specific era or subgenre of hip-hop, and she always switches up her configuration and presentation and methodology while making the music happen in consistently fascinating ways.

The band unknowingly started in the summer of 1997 when Kalyn moved back from Burbank, CA to her Denver hometown and was invited to attend and corrupt the 14th annual week-long Wheelchair Sports Camp. The band tours the states and beyond from their home in Denver, Colorado.

Kind Dub

The producer and emcee duo of Kind Dub, consisting of “KD” (Cody Marsden) and “CO” (Cory Clarke) have been producing and writing music together in Colorado since 2011. Shortly after, they founded the collaborative effort Kind Dub Krew, and recorded 2 records with NY lyricist Arson, and featured long-time Colorado emcee Qbala. Kind Dub brings a voice to the Colorado underground music scene. This is due to their relentless work ethic and undeniable dedication to making impactful music with powerful live performances. Kind Dub always goes the extra mile to help fellow artists with their creative agency in Fort Collins. Kind Dub performed their first live show in late 2013, and have shown no signs of slowing down. Their one-of-a-kind sound, and thought-provoking lyrics have shared stages with some of their favorite national artists including People Under The Stairs, Hieroglyphics, Chali 2na, Living Legends, Zion-I, Pharoahe Monch, Bone Thugs & Harmony, Afroman, Immortal Technique, Grouch & Eligh, Nappy Roots, Rhymesayers, Masta Ace and many more. Their dedication has taken them on numerous tours, playing shows in over a dozen states, with a trip to SXSW in 2015. Gaining traction at a number of Colorado festivals such as Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest, The UMS, Westword Music Showcase, and Higher Ground Music Festival, Kind Dub plans to pursue new festivals, new crowds to interact with, and more cross country touring in 2018. Kind Dub is honored to have performed and featured on sets at many of Colorado’s iconic venues including Red Rocks Amphitheatre, The Mishawaka, Fillmore Auditorium, Aggie Theatre, Levitt Pavilion, Cervantes’ Masterpiece, The Fox Theatre, Animas City Theatre, and The Black Sheep. Kind Dub COllabs EP Series is out now on all available platforms.
