Sound & Vision Cinema: The Blues Brothers

Living Room

It’s time to pop them dark sunglasses on and put the band back together with this screening of the cult classic music film, The Blues Brothers. Just one day after would have been John Belushi’s 69th birthday, this special screening will feature an all blues, soul, & R&B music playlist before the film, and the first 25 in the door get a free pair of Ray Ban-style Music District sunglasses. Sound & Vision Cinema invites movie-goers to bring blankets, pillows, and sleeping bags from home and cozy up in the Living Room. Concessions and limited seating will also be available.

The Blues Brothers (1980), is an action comedy following brothers Jake and Elwood Blues (John Belushi + Dan Aykroyd) as they attempt to raise $5,000 for their childhood orphanage by taking their old band back on the road. Hilarity ensues as the brothers subsequently wreak havoc across the Midwest. Most memorably perhaps, are the film’s soul-stirring performances by musical icons including James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Cab Calloway, and John Lee Hooker.

Dir. John Landis (1980, R, 133 min.)
