Join the Music District as we kick-off summer with Sonic Social, an open house-style celebration where you are invited to plug in, turn up, and party on.

Enjoy a retro dance party with DJ Jason Heller get geeky with live music by Weird gAL (Fort Collins’ own “Weird Al” Yankovic tribute band), Black Moon Howl, and Dagmar, and experience hands-on interactives, live record cutting with Meep Records, drop-in music lessons, electronic music-making with Kind Dub, live visuals by CAT Scanners Duo, DJ booth hosted by KRFC 88.9 FM, otherworldly art installation by Rythm EFX, NoCO music video spotlight, walking tours of the Music District, photo booth, cash bar, food truck, and more!

4:30pm-6:30pm, Drop-in Guitar Lessons: Ever wanted to learn guitar? Now’s your chance. Step into the lesson room, pick up a guitar, and strum away with tips + tricks from veteran instructor David Wiatrolik// Aqua Room

4:30pm-6:30pm, Drop-in Sitar Lessons: Perfect for beginners with an interest in sitar and Hindustani classical music, stop by and get hands-on sitar time with Andy Pettit, who has been studying the instrument and Hindustani (North Indian) music for the past 18 years. // Purple Room

5:00pm-5:30pm, Dagmar live performance: San Francisco indie-pop duo, Dagmar create a sound that is raw, challenging, and vulnerable; a vocal driven exposition of Medieval harmonies and uncrumpled diaries, with influences ranging from Philip Glass to the Fleet Foxes. // The Living Room

5:30pm-7:00pm, TwoScoopS DJ setDelivering the soul party vibes with his high energy live performance, TwoScoopS uses traditional DJing techniques while incorporating original productions as part of the Salt Magazine Lounge. // Level 2

5:45pm & 7:15pm, Guided Walking Tour of the Music DistrictGo behind the scenes of the campus, learn the history of the buildings, and see all that the Music District has to offer. Please note: tours are first-come, first-served and will be capped at 15 participants. // Outdoor: West Patio

6:30pm-7:00pm, Weird gAL live performance: Prepare to get weird with Fort Collins’ premier “Weird Al” Yankovic tribute band and relive such hits as: “Amish Paradise”, “Smells like Nirvana”, “Eat It”, “Yoda”, “Gump”, and more. // The Living Room

6:45pm-8:45pm, Drop-in Voice & Piano Lessons: Whether you are interested in honing your vocal abilities, or want to learn to tickle the ivories, Fort Collins’ own Charity Chapman will be offering engaging mini lessons to enhance your skills. // Aqua Room

7:00pm-7:45pm, Black Moon Howl live performance: Longmont, Colorado’s Black Moon Howl play blues-y psych-rock emanating from the brains, mouths, and limbs of Steve Jones & Julian Peterson. // Upper Terrace

7:00pm-9:00pm, DJ Jason Heller: This seasoned DJ is renowned for spinning retro funk/rock/r&b hits on 7-inch records, has curated the FUNK CLUB dance parties around his love for 45s, and is an author of the recent book, “Strange Stars: David Bowie, Pop Music, and the Decade Sci-Fi Exploded”. // The Living Room

7:00pm-9:00pm, Live Oil Projection Art: Get immersed in live oil projection art by CAT Scanners, who take the 1960s psychedelic visuals to the next level. // The Living Room

Live Vinyl CuttingMake your very own recording with Meep Records. Each record is cut immediately using vintage Presto Recording Lathes. // Blue Rehearsal Room

KRFC DJ Booth + Photo Lab: Ready for radio? Cut a record with Meep then step into the DJ booth to record your custom song introduction with KRFC staff and volunteers. Some select tracks will be played on the air at 88.9 FM! Bands, performers, and sonic artists: Something Random will also be onsite taking complimentary band photos to add to your press kit. // Red Rehearsal Room
