Packing the f*cking room is extremely difficult for local musicians. This panel is designed for musicians to speak with and ask questions of locals that have successfully drawn crowds out to their shows for years. Some of them are amazing musicians, some work for venues, and some for music agencies.
Do you draw people out to shows by trying to get them to hear your sounds or work on a look that sparks their interest? Some say image is more important. Do you agree? Bring your question, comments, and experience to share some tactics that will help you pack the f*ck^ng room!

About Kyle: Omaha native Kyle Eustice is an accomplished music journalist whose bylines have appeared in publications like The Source, Wax Poetics, High Times, Ghettoblaster Magazine and Vice. She’s currently a staff writer/editor for HipHopDX, news chief for Public Enemy’s Chuck D and longtime contributor for Thrasher Skateboard Magazine. Kyle lives in Fort Collins with her husband Paul Lukes, and two chihuahuas Paco and Petey. In her spare time, she can be found somewhere backstage with a recorder in her hand or on a bicycle.
Sara Duril is the co-owner of Maple Street Music Agency based in Fort Collins.Sara is a graduate of Colorado State University (B.A. in Speech Communication, Broadcasting). She has worked in sales, marketing, quality assurance, training, and fundraising for more than 20 years. Her experience in the music business dates back to 1990 when she worked as as an intern at KTCL 93.3 FM in Fort Collins, Colorado, but her deep-seeded interest took root long before that. She founded the Staging Youth Showcase, working closely with regional musicians to mentor high school students in the ways of the music industry. As well as having promoted several concerts in the Fort Collins area, Sara brings experience as a talent buyer to Maple Street Music Agency.
Caitlin McQueen is the goddess of booking at the Downtown Artery in Fort Collins. Her experience extends from production and stage management to marketing and talent buying. She has worked with several organizations including SpokesBUZZ and The Mishawaka Amphitheatre and has been in her current role at the Downtown Artery since 2015. Caitlin has a pulse on the local music scene and keen sense of how to build a bill.
Tim Massa: I have been performing in bands in Fort Collins since I moved here to get my BFA about 15 years ago. My marketing career started 3 years ago with a part time job at Hodi’s Half Note. I quickly acquired several more part time jobs at the Mishawaka, Cohere Bandwidth, and Aggie Theatre and was able to make music marketing my full time job. A little over a year ago I was offered a full time position as the Marketing Director at the Mishawaka.
